time for an update! what's been going on since my last update...
The weather in Berlin this summer has been really yucky. Rainy, cold, almost fall-like! Thursday and Friday were just normal days at work, and Friday I left a bit early and caught the train over to Marburg. There were a few people I'd missed since I'd last been in Marburg so I had promised to see them and plus Boyfriend met me there so it was nice to see somewhere besides Berlin or Nürnberg.
The first night we got some dinner (he tried auflauf, the Marburg specialty), went to a few bars, and then we met my Bolivian friend Nata at Sudhaus. It was really fun catching up with her, though I missed Savino's text which made me sad. Would've liked to see him.
Saturday I showed Boyfriend around Marburg. It was really nice and chill and we had a good time. I got to play tour guide, which was fun. We went out for Indian food, then met Olivio for some drinks and catching up. He's worried he'll have to go back to Brazil soon. That's always such a topic of conversation among expats...when do I have to go home?
Olivio met us at this bar that specializes in Absinth, so he and Boyfriend drank some. I loathe the taste of licorice, so I wasn't interested in having any. After that we turned in kinda earlyish. Sunday we got up early, had an awesome breakfast, and then had to part kind of early since he had to get back at a decent hour. It was a very quiet, relaxing weekend, but I enjoyed it immensely. I never realized the value of peace and quiet. Living in Berlin it's so many people and noise and confusion and action, which is great sometimes, but it's wonderful to go to a small town and just be slow. I like that :)
Today was back to work. My time in Berlin is quickly coming to a close, can you believe it? I adore this city though. It's so interesting and diverse and exciting. I'm so happy I got the opportunity to live here this summer.
This week is just normal work stuff, but I guess I have to start thinking about coming home soon! Bleh, I dread the thought of packing...
